HONG KONG – Former Radford men's tennis standout Martin Sayer (Hong Kong) continues to add to his already impressive Davis Cup resume as he helped his native country grab an early 2-0 advantage with a straight-set victory over Oman's Mohammed Al Nabhani Friday at the Chinese Recreation Club.

In the second singles match of the day, Sayer grabbed the opening set (6-1) as his opponent Mohammed Al Nabhani had no answer for his crisp groundstrokes.
The second set, however, wasn't quite as easy as Sayer had to save two break points in the fourth before eventually taking the set by a 7-5 margin.
Sayer then produced a textbook finish, as he secured an early break in the third set before clinching the set and his second Davis Cup singles victory of 2009.
With a 2-0 advantage in hand, Hong Kong now has three chances to secure this Relegation Playoff tie over the next two days.
The first of these chances now rests with Jack Hui and Brian Hung, as they take on Khalid and Mohammed Al Nabhani in Saturday's potential tie-clinching doubles.
A win by the spirited duo from Hong Kong would give the home side an insurmountable 3-0 lead, and with it, the right to remain in Asia/Oceania Zone Group II in 2010.
Play Saturday will commence at the Chinese Recreation Club at 1500hrs HK time.
