RADFORD, Va. -- Coming off a pair of shutout victories to start the season, Radford opens up its home slate Wednesday at 2 p.m. as the Highlanders host Siena in a mid-afternoon contest from RU Hockey Field.
The Highlanders opened up 2010 in fine fashion with a season-opening 1-0 win over defending Mid-American Conference champs, Ohio on Friday. Marlee Schramm scored the only goal of the match in the 17th minute and Jennifer Wisniewski made five saves as the Highlanders picked a big road win over the Bobcats.

The following day Radford held Saint Louis to just three shots and a corner in a 3-0 victory over the Billikens. Kay Tufts, Melissa Register and Lara Cariker tallied goals for the Highlanders.
Tufts put Radford on the board at 25:05 and Register and Cariker gave the Highlanders breathing room late in the match. Cariker picked up an assist on Register's score. Wisniewski stopped SLU's lone shot on goal to earn her second shutout of the season and 10th in her collegiate career.
It is the first 2-0 start since 2006 when Radford upended Siena and Colgate on the road and just the second time in program history the Highlander opened up with back-to-back shutouts. The first was 1989 with blankings of Roanoke and Eastern Mennonite.
With a victory today, Radford would start 3-0 for the first time since 1996. If it happens to be a shutout, it will be the first time in program history.
For her efforts last weekend, Wisniewski was tabbed NorPac East Defensive Player of the Week. She made a total of six saves in the pair of season-opening triumphs.
Radford hits the road for five straight beginning with in-state foe William & Mary on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Highlanders return home on Sep. 22 and begin defense of their East Division title when they host Davidson under the lights at 7 p.m.
