PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton recorded a 9-8 decision in the final doubles match, which proved to be the difference as the Tigers edged Radford 4-3 in non-conference men's tennis action Sunday afternoon.
After Radford's top duo of Ivan Salec (Oroslavje, Croatia / Oroslavje Secondary School) and Thomas Dehaen (Zwevegem, Belgium / Middenjury) evened the doubles portion at one match apiece, the Tigers' Coleman Crutchfield and Alex Faust claimed the tiebreaker on the third court to hold off Igor Ogrizek (Daruvar, Croatia / Birotechnika Grammar School) and Zack Watson (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite).
In singles action, the Highlanders got wins from their veteran group of Salec, Ogrizek and Watson.
Radford (2-5) will step away from dual action Monday before continuing its five-match “Spring Break” swing at Brown Tuesday.
