Media Services & Policies
Interviews - All interviews with Radford University coaches, student-athletes and staff members must be arranged through the Office of Athletics Communications. After games, matches and other athletic events, locker rooms are generally off limits to members of the media. Player and coach interviews, however, may be conducted outside locker room entrances or on the playing surface after a minimal, 10-minute cooling off period for participants. On non-game days interviews can be arranged around class and practice schedules. We ask that those wishing to conduct interviews with coaches and student-athletes give the Office of Athletics Communications at least 24 hours advance notice so a time can be arranged that works around everyone's schedules.

Practices - Practices are generally closed. Attendance at practices should be arranged through the Athletics Communications Office. All arrangements should be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Game Day Coverage and Press Passes - Any media member covering a game, match or other contest hosted by Radford University is asked to reserve a press credential at least 24 hours prior to the event. For most sports, the Office of Athletics Communications will provide statistical information and/or play-by-play as soon as possible following the completion of the contest.

Parking - The Dedmon Center, home of the Highlanders, is on University Drive across Main St. (U.S. 11) from the main campus. Media covering Radford basketball should park on the riverside parking lot (Lot Z, between the Dedmon Center and New River) and enter through the main entrance towards the ticket window/will call. Gates open one hour prior to tip. Television camera crews are reccommended to park on the lower level near the riverside entrance for ease in getting equipment in the building. Parking passes are not needed for parking in Lot Z.

Press Conferences - In the event of a press conference, the primary media covering Radford University Athletics will be notified as far in advance as possible. To be added to the primary media list, contact the Office of Athletics Communications.

Game Programs - Game notes and other pre-game information may be obtained from the Office of Athletics Communications when available. If notes, programs, etc., are not available, the Office of Athletics Communications will assist members of the working media in any way possible to ensure accurate reporting.

Press Facilities - Basketball press row is courtside in front of the blue, reserved-seating section. Press row seating is provided for working media representatives, radio and television crews broadcasting the game, sports information staff, and approved visitors. No children are allowed. No cheering is allowed. Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium, Williams Field at Carter Memorial Stadium and Radford Softball Stadium all have press boxes with seating for appropriate personnel.

Technology - Working space will be made available before, during and after events. Internet access is also available at most athletic events as well. Please contact the Office of Athletics Communications for more information.

Radio - Any visiting radio broadcasts must reserve their seating and Ethernet lines at least one week in advance of the covered event. The visitor's radio station is provided space on the scorer's table at the Dedmon Center.

Photographers - Photographers will have assigned seating in the respective end zones for basketball, with seating assignments posted on each hoop prior to the contest. For all other sports, standard shooting spots may be utilized. The standard media policies apply to photographers as well.
