
MEN CAPTURE FIFTH STRAIGHT REGULAR SEASON CROWN; DEFEATS UNCA, 5-2

RESULTS
RADFORD, Va. – Radford locked up its fifth straight Big South regular season crown and clinched a first-round bye in the 2010 Conference Tournament with a 5-2 victory over UNC Asheville in men's tennis action Sunday morning at the RU Tennis Courts.
Winners of 41 of their last 42 home contests, the Highlanders improved to 11-10 overall and 5-1 in the league, while UNCA fell to 6-13 and 1-5.
Radford will host the 2010 Big South Men's and Women's Tennis Championships April 22-24 at the RU Tennis Courts.
Despite dropping the doubles portion, the Highlanders won five of the six singles matches, including four in straight sets.
The lone bright spot in doubles play was Ivan Salec and Thomas Dehaen's 12th straight win, which improved them to 16-1 as a tandem.
In search of their fourth straight tournament crown and trip to the NCAA Regionals, the Highlanders will begin their title defense Friday morning at 10 a.m. against the winner of the No. 4 seed / No. 5 seed match.
