
WOMEN’S TENNIS FALLS TO GARDNER-WEBB, 5-2

RESULTS
RADFORD, Va. – Despite winning the doubles point, the Radford women's tennis team fell to Gardner-Webb, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.
The loss drops the Highlanders to 5-12 overall and 2-5 in the Big South, while the Bulldogs improve to 10-6 on the season and 2-3 in the league.
Radford came out to a 1-0 advantage after taking two out of the three doubles matches. The top duo of Mia Drobnjak and Petra Dajevic recorded an 8-1 victory, while Mirna Matic and Ivana Tomaic rallied back and forth to eventually take an 8-5 decision on court two.
In singles competition, Gardner-Webb responded with four straight-set victories to secure the match.
Radford's lone singles win came from Tomaic with a straight-set 7-5, 6-4 decision at the No. 3 spot.
The Highlanders will be back on the court Tuesday for a non-conference match against Longwood at 3 p.m.
