
WOMEN’S GOLF RECORDS FOURTH TOP-10 PERFORMANCE AT FIGHTING CAMEL CLASSIC

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Radford women's golf team finished ninth at the Fighting Camel Classic after firing a 322 in the final round at the par 72, 6,026-yard Keith Hills Country Club. The Highlanders' 968 (332-314-322) allowed the squad to post its fourth Top-10 showing out of the five tournaments played this fall.
After holding a two-stroke lead through 36 holes, 39th-ranked Campbell fired a 306 Tuesday to claim the team title at 898 (294-298-306). Eight shots behind was runner-up Old Dominion at 906 (297-297-312). Longwood finished third at 918 (309-296-313) and 68th-ranked Cal-State Fullerton finished in fourth at 925 (312-309-304). Rollins College, the second-ranked squad in Division II, finished fifth at 927 (309-306-312) in the 12-team event.
Recording their fourth and third Top-25 showings of the season are Alexandra Austin and Hayley Hammond. Austin (78-79-80) and Hammond (81-78-78) finished at 237 to tie for 25th. Paige Reese carded a team-best 77 in the final round to finish tied for 38th at 243 (89-77-77).
Kirsty Condon concluded the tournament in 56th place with a three-round total of 255 (85-83-87), while Katie Parrott finished two strokes behind at 257 (88-80-89) to lock down 57th place.
The Highlanders will resume competition in the spring when the squad opens the 2013 slate at the prestigious Edwin Watts Kiawah Island Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Charleston, March 3-5.
