
WOMEN’S TENNIS BLANKS ROANOKE COLLEGE IN HOME OPENER, 7-0

RADFORD, Va. – Radford improved on its best start in school history with a 7-0 victory over Roanoke College in non-conference women's tennis action Thursday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.
In addition to their 12-4 start, the Highlanders won their sixth straight, while the Maroons fell to 8-3 on the season.
Due to an injured Roanoke player, the match consisted of two doubles contests and five singles matches.
The Highlanders, who claimed the doubles portion for the 12th time in 16 outings, got victories from the duo of Hannah Crawford and Meg Napolitano as well as Gemma Valls and Taylor Newman.
Radford carried its impressive play into singles by sweeping the competition in straight sets.
The Highlanders' singles points came from Crawford (6-1, 6-1), Valls (6-0, 6-1), Newman (6-0, 6-0), Napolitano (6-0, 6-0) and Sara Tegner (6-0, 6-0), who made her spring debut.
Radford will travel to George Mason for an 11:00 a.m. contest on Saturday.
