RADFORD OPENS PLAY AT LADY PIRATE INTERCOLLEGIATE

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Through Monday's 36 holes of play, the Radford women's golf team carded a 642 (320-322) and is 18th in the team standings at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. East Carolina is hosting the two-day tournament at the par 72, 6,088-yard Greenville Country Club.

GRU Augusta, ranked 33rd in the nation, has set the pace with its 588 (297-291). Three Jaguars are inside the field's top 10, led by Josefine Nyqvist. She is tied for the lead at 1-under-par 143 (71-72) with Winthrop's Jennifer Dilger.

Kennesaw State (594), Georgia State (597), Old Dominion (600) and East Carolina (602) round out the top five teams on the leaderboard.

Freshman Larissa Carter led RU on the opening day, signing for a 156 (77-79). The Owasco, N.Y. native is tied for 56th with 18 holes to play. One shot behind and tied for 62nd is Alexandra Austin, who brought in a 157 (78-79). Khushboo Thiagaraj is tied for 82nd at 162 (81-81), while Meagan Board is 90th at 167 (84-83). Olivia Jay finishes out the Highlanders' lineup at 177 (89-88), which is 94th in the field.

Radford will look to improve its position in Tuesday's final round, which begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
