BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Radford volleyball team found its offensive groove Saturday evening by hitting .323 on its way to a 3-0 (25-6, 25-19, 25-16) victory over Gardner-Webb inside Paul Porter Arena.

Radford (12-6, 2-1 Big South) could not have scripted a much better start as the team hit .600 in the opening frame en route to holding its opposition to six points. The six points were the fewest the Highlanders had allowed in a single set since their match against Savannah State (Sept. 21) last season. In addition, Radford's .323 attack clip for the match was its second-highest rating of the season.

Megan Short was virtually unstoppable on the right side, putting down a match-best 12 kills on 20 swings (.450) to pace the Highlanders' attack. Not far behind was Maddie Palmer, who unloaded 11 kills on 26 attempts (.346). Jena Braden finished with 35 assists, while Kelby Jackson pocketed a match-high 13 digs. Savannah Cantrell contributed three blocks.

RU finished with more kills (43-20), more digs (46-35), more aces (7-2) and boasted an impressive .620 sideout percentage.

Tyler Cockrell was the lone bright spot for Gardner-Webb (8-13, 1-2 Big South), unleashing nine kills at a .421 attack clip. Ana Pashkova, who is among the Big South's leaders in digs, only managed 12 against Radford's attack.

After 10 matches away from the Dedmon Center, the Highlanders finally return to their home court for a pair of matches next weekend. Radford is set to face High Point (Friday at 7 p.m.) and Campbell (Saturday at 4 p.m.).
