WOMEN’S TENNIS ROLLS TO 7-0 WIN AT ROANOKE

SALEM, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team made the short trip to Salem Monday afternoon to take on Roanoke College in a nonconference women's tennis match at Elizabeth Campus Courts.
Taking less than two hours, the Highlanders handed Roanoke (8-1) its first loss of the season by a 7-0 decision. Radford (5-8) won the doubles point in sweeping fashion. Playing together for the first time this season, Taylor Newman and Taylor Fay took care of Emma Barker and Kristen McDowell, 8-0, at the third flight.
Meg Napolitano and Grace Sarver edged Jennifer Antoszyk and Briell Smith, 8-6, to clinch the 1-0 lead for RU. Gisela Garcia and Sara Andrade also prevailed in their duel at No. 2, 8-5, over Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel.
In singles, Fay and Andrade wasted little time staking the Highlanders to a 3-0 advantage with their 6-0, 6-0 triumphs on courts six and five, respectively. Napolitano also blanked her opponent at No. 2 singles to seal the victory for Radford.
The Highlanders remain on the road for Wednesday's Big South tilt against Longwood in Farmville, Va. Action gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
