
WOMEN’S GOLF CARDS SEASON-BEST ROUND TO CONCLUDE W&M INVITATIONAL

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Radford women's golf team carded a season-best 305 to move up one spot in the team standings following Tuesday's final round of the William & Mary Invitational hosted by the Tribe at the par 72, 5,948-yard Kingsmill Resort Plantation Course.
The Highlanders' three-round total of 931 (319-307-305) was enough to leap Big South rival Longwood on the final day of action. Elon led wire-to-wire in finishing 21 shots clear of runner-up Morehead State in the team chase. The Phoenix carded an 883 (300-285-298) over its three days.
Alexandra Austin, who led the tournament through 18 holes, tied for fourth in Radford's second event of the season. The senior charted a 219 (72-74-73) to secure her eighth career top-5 showing. She finished with 13 birdies for the tournament, which tied for the most in the field.
Khushboo Thiagaraj tied for 25th at 232 (79-76-77). She tied for fourth in par-3 scoring at 1-over-par. Larissa Carter fired a season-best 76 in the final round to tie for 39th at 236 (82-78-76). Meagan Board concluded the tournament in 59th at 246 (86-79-81), while Olivia Jay turned in a 251 (87-85-79) to take 64th.
Elon's Kelsey Badmaev claimed medalist honors at even-par 216 (75-70-71). Anna Kim of St. John's finished one stroke behind with her 1-over 217 (74-68-75).
Radford returns to action Sept. 29-30 at the Forest Oaks Fall Classic hosted by UNC Greensboro. The 54-hole event is to be contested at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Forest Oaks hosted the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship from 1977-2007.
