RADFORD, Va. – Radford captured a share of the Big South regular-season championship, its third in the last four years, setting a conference record of 10 regular-season titles with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19) victory over Campbell in the last Friday home match.

Radford opened the match with a 7-4 lead, thanks to a run of points by Stephanie Neast. The freshman collected two kills, while teaming up with Mallory McKnight for a block. Campbell fought back to take a 16-15 lead on a block by Madison Linxwiler and Jessica Stocking, sparking a 10-5 run that saw four Highlander errors and two kills from Allena Heath for the 25-20 opening set win.

A 12-4 Radford run midway through the second set extended the Highlander lead to a 19-12 advantage as Maddie Palmer collected two of her five kills during the run. Amaya Rousseau, Sydney Tekstra, McKnight and Palmer added kills in the final six points of the second set as Radford hit .310 in the dominating 25-18 win to even the match.

Campbell came out of the break on fire, taking a 9-3 commanding lead on five kills. The Highlanders slowly chipped away at the Camel lead, pulling within 11-10 on a McKnight solo block. The McKnight block ignited a 5-1 run as the Highlanders took a 15-12 lead on back-to-back errors, forcing Campbell to call a timeout.

The Camels stormed back to knot the match at 19 as Rachel Harty collected the fourth of her five kills in the set. Radford held on for a 25-22 set three victory as Campbell committed four errors down the stretch.

In the decisive fourth set, Radford took a 10-4 lead on the hot serving hand of Emma Wroblicky as the senior sent over tough serves that led to three straight Campbell attack errors. A stretch of six straight points by Campbell pulled the Camels within 14-12. The stretch was highlighted by three kills off the hand of Harty. However, Tekstra collected four of her 10 kills in the fourth set as Radford collected its ninth straight home victory with a 25-19 match-clinching decision.

Radford dropped only its sixth opening set of the season.
The win ensures the Highlanders a share of the regular-season title and a first-round bye in the conference tournament.
The win breaks a tie with Liberty for the most regular-season championships in Big South history.
Maddie Palmer finished with a match-high 15 kills, giving the junior 24 double-digit kill matches.
Sydney Tekstra joined Palmer in double-figures, finishing with 10 kills. Tekstra has double-digit kills in two of the last three matches.
The Highlanders totaled nine blocks as Amaya Rousseau led the way with five assisted blocks, while Stephanie Neast followed with four.
Emma Wroblicky came up big in the third and fourth sets, collecting eight of her team-high 11 digs in the two sets.
Kelby Jackson finished with her 21^st double-figure dig match of the season with 10 digs, extending her career mark to 1,596.
Radford finished with a .228 attacking percentage, holding Campbell to a .184 clip.
Campbell placed four in double-figure kills: Rachel Harty (14), Allena Heath (12), Madison Linxwiler (11) and Jenny Tait (10).
The back-and-forth match saw 20 ties and eight lead changes.

"I think the pressure of wanting to get this done and knowing what the stakes are at this point was weighing on them a little bit, but it was nice to see them step up in set number two, put their foot down and really be the aggressors instead of Campbell. We're really young but I'm super proud of this group and how they've been able to fight. Winning a regular season title is so hard because you have to be good for eight weeks to do it. Radford returns to action on Saturday for Senior Day action versus Presbyterian at 4 p.m.
