SARVER AND FAY HONORED IN SENIOR DAY MATCH VERSUS UNC ASHEVILLE

RADFORD, Va. – Radford honored seniors Grace Sarver and Taylor Fay as the duo played their last match at the RU Tennis Complex, but the Highlanders were unable to hold on as UNC Asheville battled back for a 4-3 victory.
Radford swept through doubles action, taking an early 1-0 lead. UNC Asheville battled back, earning wins in No. 5 and No. 3 singles.
Tarrannum Handa evened the match at two with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ericka Rivero in No. 2 singles.
Kylee Shipley gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead with a 7-5, 6-4 win in No. 6 action.
Needing a big win, Sarver delivered for the Highlanders, earning a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 win versus Hunter Hall in No. 4 singles.
Going down to the last match, UNC Asheville earned the win as No. 1 Hannah Francisco held on for a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 match clinching win over Natalie Sayer.
Radford (1-14, 1-8) concluded the regular season portion of its schedule and will await its first round opponent in the Big South Tournament starting on April 15.
