DZEUBOU/BLALOCK DOUBLES TANDEM WINS DOUBLES FLIGHT IN WOFFORD INVITE

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Radford women's tennis doubles' tandem of Drousile Dzeubou and Tyler Blalock finished the Wofford Invitational as the Black Doubles flight champions, while Natalie Sayer took third-place honors in the White Singles bracket on Saturday afternoon.
Playing two matches on the day, Dzeubou and Blalock defeated Western Carolina's Lauren McCall and Carli Deehr 6-2 to advance to the flight championship. In the championship match, the duo met Anna Fuhr and Stephanie Taylor of Emory, taking a 6-3 victory.
In the Gold Doubles bracket, Lotti Meszaros and Sayer defeated Virginia Tech's Nina Sorkin and Nancy Ghanem 6-3 in the losers' bracket semifinal. Taking on USC Upstate's Carol Sigaki and Noelina Acuna in the fifth-place match, the Highlander tandem fell 7-6 (2).
Moving to singles action, Radford collected a third-place, fourth-place and two fifth-place finishes.
Sayer earned a hard-fought 6-7 (6), 7-5, 10-4 victory over Western Carolina's Alexa Webb in the White Singles bracket, finishing the invite 2-1.
Meszaros faced Emory's Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico in the Gold Singles bracket, dropping the match 6-2, 6-1 to place fourth in the bracket. Meszaros went 1-2 in the invitational.
Dzeubou was supposed to face Kylee Shipley of UNC Asheville in the fifth-place match of the Wofford Singles bracket, but a Shipley injury handed Dzeubou the withdrawal win.
Joining Dzeubou with a fifth-place win was Zoe Fraser, who defeated Emory's Elaine Vernoff 6-4, 7-5 in the Gray Singles bracket, improving to 2-1 on the weekend.
In consolation matches, Blalock picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Gaby Cevallos of USC Upstate in the SoCon Singles bracket. Also, earning a consolation win Jeanine Acierto defeated unattached Steffi Kong 3-6, 7-6 (5), 14-12.
Radford closes out the fall portion of its schedule Nov. 3-5 in the Hokie Fall Invitational.
