RADFORD DOUBLES TANDEMS COLLECT HIGH FINISHES IN HOKIE INVITE

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Radford women's team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2017-18 schedule in the Hokie Fall Invite as the Highlanders' doubles teams finished the invite placing third, fifth and sixth.
Doubles action saw Tyler Blalock and Drousile Dzeubou finish the highest among any Radford singles or doubles match of the invite, defeating George Washington's Maria Siopacha and Victoria Kogan 6-4 in the Maroon Doubles Flight third-place match
Also in the Maroon Doubles Flight, Zoe Fraser and Jeanine Acierto picked up a fifth-place finish with a 7-5 victory over Hannah Klatsky and Liyin Xu of Penn State.
In the Orange Doubles Flight, the doubles tandem of Lotti Meszaros and Natalie Sayer finished sixth after dropping a tough 7-6(4) match to Miami's face Nelli Ponomreva and Lena Babunski.
Finishing the highest among any Highlander individual player, Acierto finished fourth in the UT Prosim Flight, falling 6-1, 6-1 to James Madison's Noumea Witmus.
In the Sacrifice Flight, Dzeubou took a dominating 6-1, 6-1 fifth-place match victory over Melati Devi of Miami.
Blalock dropped a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6(4) match to Wofford's Curran Carver in the Service Flight fifth-place match.
Rounding out singles play, Sayer picked up a seventh-place finish in the Brotherhood Flight as result of a withdraw by Shannon Hanley of Penn State. Sayer defeated Mackenzie Meyeres of Miami in an extra match 6-2, 6-4.
Meszaros dropped a seventh-place match to Liberty's Rebekah Anderson 6-2, 6-2, finishing the Honor Flight in eighth. Also in the Honor Flight, Fraser dropped an extra match to Marina Alcaide of VCU by the score of 6-4, 6-3.
Radford opens the 2018 regular season with a Jan. 22 match at North Carolina A&T. Action is slated for a 2 p.m., start.
