DZEUBOU/MESZAROS PICK UP DOUBLES WIN IN 7-0 LOSS AT VIRGINIA TECH

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Radford dropped a 7-0 decision to Virginia Tech Saturday afternoon as the two New River Valley foes met inside the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
The Highlanders put up a fight in doubles play, nearly collecting the point. Drousile Dzeubou and Lotti Meszaros teamed up to takedown Katherine Butler and McKenzie Collins 6-4 in No. 2 doubles.
The win marked the second doubles win over a Power 5 opponent this season for Dzeubou and Meszaros. They are 5-0 in doubles action.
Locked at one match each, Radford was unable to take the point as Natalie Sayer and Tyler Blalock dropped a hard-fought 7-6 decision to Nika Kozar and Nina Sorkin in No. 1 doubles.
In singles action, Blalock would win five games in the opening set of No. 4 singles against Kozar, but eventually fell 7-5, 6-2. Five games would be the most won by a Highlander on the day in singles play.
Radford returns to play on Feb. 23 at George Mason for a 6 p.m., match
