MEEKERS PICKS UP 11TH WIN; RADFORD FALLS 5-2 TO LIBERTY

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Radford fell to Liberty 5-2 in a Commonwealth battle Saturday afternoon in the Highlanders second Big South contest of the season.

Radford (8-5, 0-2 Big South) picked up the first doubles win as Alexandros Caldwell and Rodrigo Magalhaes opened the match with a 6-2 victory in No. 1 doubles.

Liberty battled back to take the next two matches, entering singles play with a 1-0 lead.

After the Flames took a 2-0 lead, Magalhaes gave Radford its first win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 2 singles.

Liberty (12-8, 4-0 Big South) clinched the match with two more singles wins, before Michiel Meekers moved to 11-2 on the season as the redshirt junior picked up a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 win in No. 4 singles.

The Flames took the final singles match, closing out the day for a 5-2 victory.

Radford continues Big South play on Sunday, traveling to Farmville, Va., for a 1 p.m., match with Longwood.
