HARMAR, Pa. – Radford wrapped up the road portion of its 2018 schedule with a 4-3 loss to Duquesne in non-conference action on Monday morning.

Alexandros Caldwell and Rodrigo Magalhaes opened the match with a quick 6-0 victory in No. 1 doubles to improve to 10-4 on the season.

After picking up the first doubles win, Radford was unable to take the point as Duquesne controlled the next two matches.

The Dukes opened singles play with wins in No. 5 and No. 6 singles, pushing its lead to 3-0.

Michiel Meekers put the Highlanders on the board with a hard-fought 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory in No. 3 singles. With the win, Meekers moved to 14-5 on the season and 7-3 in his last 10 contests.

Duquesne sealed the match as Adam Blasinsky defeated Magalhaes 6-4, 7-6 (4) in No. 1 singles.

Radford took the last two singles matches as Matko Varga closed out No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) victory. The win moved Varga to 11-8 overall.

The Highlanders' final point on the day came from Caldwell, who took a 6-1, 7-5 win in No. 4 singles. Caldwell is now 13-6 on the season, winning two straight.

Radford will close out the regular season this weekend with back-to-back home matches. The Highlanders will host Charleston (W.Va.) on Friday and future Big South foe Hampton on Saturday.
