Highlanders Upend Gardner-Webb on Senior Day

Radford, Va. – The Radford volleyball team ended the 2021 campaign on a high note Saturday, defeating Gardner-Webb 3-0 on Senior Day at the Dedmon Center.
In the first set, the Runnin' Bulldogs held an early advantage, leading by as many as three points. However, the Highlanders rallied, going on a 6-1 spurt to take a 21-17 lead. A kill from senior Samantha Reitz clinched the victory, as Radford took the set 25-21.
The second game saw more of the same, with Gardner-Webb taking a 13-8 lead early. However, Radford dominated the second half of the set, with Reitz and Hailey Flowers leading the way. A 7-0 run helped the Highlander cause as they went on to take set two 25-19.
Radford was in control for the majority of the third set, ultimately prevailing 25-19 to take the match 3-0. With the victory, Radford snapped a four-game conference losing streak.
Before the game, Radford honored eight players who were playing their final game as a Highlander: Reitz, Flowers, Logan Williams, Taylor O'Neal, Taylor Moore, Kennedi Johnson, Brenna Ankrum, and Grace Green.

- Williams chipped in another stellar performance, registering 20 assists. It was her 12th 20-assist game of the season.
