Smolder Joins Highlanders for 2022-23 Season

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford Women's Tennis program announced Tuesday afternoon the addition of Lexi Smolder who will join the team for next year's 2022-23 season.
Smolder hails from Hurricane, W.V. and has been the number one recruit in West Virginia for the last three years according to Tennis Recruiting and was most recently ranked 16th in the Ohio Valley. Smolder didn't start competing in tennis until sixth grade and has since accumulated a strong list of accomplishments. In 2019 she was the AAA #1 singles state champion and in 2021 she was a state champion runner-up in singles play while winning the state championship for doubles play.
"Lexi is an excellent addition to our team," commented Director of Tennis Rob Bareford. "She's been ranked first in West Virginia for three years now, she was looking for a school where she could develop even more and win championships. We're excited to have her."
