Women’s Tennis Sweeps First Big South Match

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (4-2) took down Hampton 7-0 in their Big South opener Sunday afternoon with just about everyone on the team dominating.

In doubles play the team got their afternoon started with a win on court one that clinched the doubles point due to Hampton forfeiting court three. Salma Loudili and Malin Falk won 6-2 to give Radford the 1-0 head start.

In singles play all four Highlanders that competed won in straight sets. Falk was the first to finish and also clinch 6-1, 6-1 on court two. Emily Brandow finished with the same score 6-1, 6-1 on court four while Loudili picked up another win on the top flight 6-1, 6-1. Melissa Ifidzhen rounded out the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-3 win on court three.

Next up for the women is an NRV showdown with Virginia Tech this Wednesday with play scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
