Women's Golf Battles On Day One of Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The Radford women's golf team battled its way through the first round of the Benbow Invitational at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club on Monday.

Senior Natalie Welsh did the best of any Highlander at avoiding major pitfalls on the day, shooting a +8 (79) with 12 pars and eight bogeys. The Valencia, Pa. native is tied with seven others for 14^th in the 80-golfer field.

Like Welsh, junior Jayde Dudley made it through the entire day with only pars and bogeys. She finished the round at +12 and tied for 45^th.

Jimenna Ramirez (+13, T-51^st), Riko Nagai (+14, T-55^th) and Niki Batac (+15, T-63^rd) struggled to find their rhythm as they made up the rest of the Radford starting lineup.

Freshman Kaitlyn Mosdell made the trip as well and played as an individual. She finished +16 with a 12^th hole birdie being a big bright spot on the day.
