Women’s Tennis Season Comes to an End in Big South Quarterfinals

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Radford women's tennis program saw its season come to an end Friday morning as the squad fell 4-0 to the third seeded Gardner-Webb in the Big South Quarterfinals.

In doubles play the Highlanders were competitive in the attempt to grab the 1-0 edge. Freshmen Ameek Batth and Priscilla Stojanvoska were dominant in a 6-2 victory on court three to put Radford out front. However, Gardner-Webb took court two in a close battle and then eventually court one as well to take the 1-0 advantage.

In singles Gardner-Webb took three straight courts to gain the 4-0 clinching score which forced the three remaining courts to go unfinished. Emily Brandow had picked up the first set on court four while Camryn McClure was attempting a comeback on court five.

The Highlanders will finish the season with three players (Malin Falk, Salma Loudili and Brandow) all finish with ten or more singles wins. Radford will await postseason awards which will be announced by the conference office soon.
