Men’s Basketball Inks Robinson, Kee, Gross, Kabamba, Cantrell, Nokes and Pruett for Upcoming 2026-27 Season

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's basketball program and head coach Zach Chu announced Tuesday that Ja'Corey Robinson, Jordyn Kee, Tristan Gross, Parby Kabamba, Caden Cantrell, Alex Nokes and Kolier Pruett have all signed with the Highlanders for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
 


JA'COREY ROBINSON
Guard | 6-6 | 211 | Topeka, Kan. | Austin Peay

  • Appeared in 30 games off the bench last season at Austin Peay, ranking second in blocks and fifth for rebounds (2.9 rpg) and steals (1.1 spg).
  • After scoring nine points in his debut game against Bryan, Robinson would go on to score in double figures nine times across the season including a season high 18 at North Florida.
  • Seven of those nine double figures scoring showings came against ASUN foes for the freshman as he finished the season with 6.6 ppg. He also recorded a steal in 17 of 30 games played, eclipsing three in a game four times including against eventual conference champions Queens (NC), Jacksonville, Fisk and Air Force.
  • Incredibly efficient shooter all season long with at a 51.7% overall clip.
  • Out of high school, Robinson was a three-star recruit at Highland Park and the number four high school recruit in Kansas.
  • Earned accolades such as the Kansas Max Preps Player of the Year, Class 5A Kansas Player of the Year and was the Shawnee County and Meadolark Conference Player of the Year.
 
COACH'S WORD ON JA'COREY: "Ja'Corey is one of the most unique players in the country possessing a rare combination of playmaking, rebounding and defensive impact. Ja'Corey will look to build off an extremely strong freshman year while being one of the largest guards in the country."

 

 
JORDYN KEE
Guard | 6-3 | 183 | Broward County, Fla. | Miami

  • Spent the 2025-26 season at Miami and appeared in eight games.
  • During the 2024-25 season, Kee redshirted with Georgia.
  • Kee was rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN.com and ranked as high as the 15th combo guard in the Class of 2024 by On3.com.
  • In his senior season at Sagemont Preparatory School, he was named second-team All-Broward by the South Florida Sun Sentinal. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals behind 16 double-digit scoring efforts in 28 games played.
  • In 12 games during Nike EBYL Scholastic League play, he averaged 7.2 ppg and 1.6 rpg while shooting a team-high 45.8% from three. He was one of seven total players on that 2022-23 roster that signed with Division I programs.

COACH'S WORD ON JORDYN: "Jordyn brings a high major pedigree to our team as a guard who can create off the dribble as well as hit open shots. We're excited for Jordyn to continue to grow his game here at Radford."
 

 
TRISTAN GROSS
Guard | 6-6 | 185 | St. Petersburg, Fla. | Mercer

  • Spent last season at Mercer and was a consistent threat off the bench averaging 4.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg with 19 assists.
  • He was an efficient shooter at 48% overall and 44% from three and was reliable in limited trips to the free throw line. His season high came in Southern Conference play with 11 points against The Citadel where he also tallied a season-high three steals.
  • In his first season at Stetson, Gross started in 14 of 35 total games played on the eventual ASUN championship and NCAA Tournament appearance squad.
  • Gross would go on to improve on all his freshman totals in 2024-25, setting career highs for points per game (5.0), rebounds per game (2.4) and assists per game (0.8).

COACH'S WORD ON TRISTAN: "Tristan is a leader both on and off the court. His ability to hit timely shots and create offense for others will allow Tristan to flourish here at Radford. We look forward to Tristan joining and helping lead our program this season."
 

 
PARBY KABAMBA

  • Joins Radford after competing at Marist the last two seasons. Appeared in 54 games with 13 starts averaging 12.8 minutes per game in his career.
  • During the 2025-26 campaign, averaged 5.4 ppg and 3.1 rpg while shooting 42% overall with 25 threes.
  • Dropped a career high 17 points against Harvard and scored in double figures against Lehigh, Fairfield, Canisius and Sacred Heart.
  • Has playing experience with NBA Academy Africa and played the 2023-24 season at south Kent School in Connecticut.
  • Also played in Basketball Without Borders in 2022 and 2023.
  • During his high school career, averaged 14.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 3.5 apg.
 
COACH'S WORD ON PARBY: "Radford is adding one of the hardest workers in the country in Parby. A veteran of the NBA Academy program and Basketball Without Borders, Parby brings elite rebounding and defensive intensity for his position while giving us floor spacing abilities with his shooting beyond the arc."

 

 
CADEN CANTRELL
Guard | 6-2 | Dallas, Texas | Highland Park HS

  • Cantrell will join the program next season as a freshman after playing this past year at Southeastern Prep.
  • Averaged 8.9 ppg, 6.2 assists per game with a 2.9 assist/turnover ratio and shot 38.6% from three-point range. With his help, the team won its first ever state championship.
  • Prior to that, in 2024 and 2025 Cantrell was named to the Texas 5A-6A All-District and Academic All-District teams while ranking top 10 in the Dallas Fort Wayne area for assists.
  • In 2023, he was a part of the TAPPS state championship squad and accumulated an 83-24 record while competing at the high school level.
 
COACH'S WORD ON CADEN: "You won't find many student-athletes with more character and discipline than Caden. We are elated to add a high IQ, elite shooter and tenacious perimeter defender to the Highlander family!"

 

 
ALEX NOKES
Forward | 6-8 | 230 | Pacific Palisades, Calif. | Santa Fe College

  • Transfers to the Highlanders after previous Division I stops at Saint Louis and Lindenwood while most recently playing JuCo ball at Santa Fe College.
  • In limited action with Lindenwood, played in four games while connecting for his first career three pointer.
  • Last season at Santa Fe College appeared in 14 games while shooting 52% in limited action.
  • Prior to his collegiate years, played one season at Victory Rock Prep in Bradenton, Fla. after graduating high school.
  • Earned all-league honors during high school ball at Beverly Hills High School.

COACH'S WORD ON ALEX: "We are excited to be able to add an experienced, high-character forward to the Radford program in Alex who has excellent toughness and physicality as well as offensive skills both inside the paint and on the perimeter."

 

 
KOLIER PRUETT
Guard | 6-4 | 205 | Narrows, Va. | UVA Wise

  • Pruett transfers into the team after spending the last two seasons at UVA Wise where he appeared in all 60 games the Cavaliers played.
  • While averaging over 16 minutes per game in his career, he's coming off a 2025-26 campaign where he set career high averages in points (5.8 ppg), assists (1.4 apg), rebounds (3.6 rpg), and overall shooting (44.1%).
  • As the season went on, Pruett worked his way into the starting lineup earning four starts near the tail end of the season.
  • He would score in double figures five times with a career high of 11 in 20 minutes of action against Mars Hill.
  • Spent his high school playing years at Narrows High School, just one county over and a short drive down 460 from Radford, in his hometown of Narrows, Va.

COACH'S WORD ON KOLIER: "We're excited to add a local talent in Kolier. He will bring athleticism, defensive intangibles and the ability to player in our fast-paced offense to the program next season."
