RADFORD, Va. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday afternoon that a pair of Radford women's golf student-athletes including Macy Johnson and Shea Smith have been named to the Academic All-District team for their impressive 2025-26 seasons.
Â
To become eligible to earn the distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and compete in a majority of the institution's tournaments played. Student-athletes also must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Only about three percent of student-athletes at the Division I level are eligible to earn the award.
Â
Johnson adds another academic award to her shelf after most recently being presented the Big South Christenberry award. This past season, she graduated early and went back-to-back with her second straight Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and her second straight season on the all-academic list. She has achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA studying Economics with a Minor in Accounting and will continue to work towards her MBA next year. In every semester at Radford Johnson has been selected to the Dean's List and is the president of Beta Gamma Sigma, a highly respect business fraternity.
Â
Smith completed her impressive Highlander career this past season with all-conference honors and her first CSC Academic All-District award while graduating with her degree in Management this past spring. For the Highlanders this season she posted the third best scoring average on the team and led the team's efforts at two tournaments while consistently finishing within the top three. At the Edisto Island Invitational, she tied the program record for lowest round at 5-under.
