Dr. Delmas Bolin

Dr. Delmas Bolin, a primary care physician and sports medicine specialist, is Radford University's head team physician for intercollegiate athletics. 

Bolin began working with Radford student-athletes during the 2007-08 academic year, and has since joined the program on a full-time basis directing the athletic training health care delivery team composed of five Staff Certified Athletic Trainers, two Certified Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers, and the student athletic trainer’s enrolled in Radford’s accredited undergraduate athletic training program.

Dr. Bolin completed a PhD in biochemistry and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign and a residency at Michigan State University in family medicine. Bolin also completed a sports fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, working with the team physicians for the University of Pittsburgh as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers. 

Dr. Bolin, whose background includes training in non-operative orthopedics and biomechanics, currently serves as the head team physician at Salem High School, the medical director of the Roanoke College Athletic Training Education program and an associate professor at VCOM. He is the owner/director of Performance Sports Medicine in Roanoke, Va. Bolin resides in Roanoke with his wife Leena, and his sons Nick and John.
