GREENSBORO, N.C. –The Highlanders women's cross country team participated in the Haganstone Park Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend. The women's team placed three runners in the top 10 led by junior Lori Crotts (New Castle, Va./Craig County) in sixth place.
Crotts' time of 19:11 was only three seconds shy of her personal best of 19:08 which she ran at the Blue Ridge Open last year. Sophomore Ashyln Sinclair (Silver Springs, Md./Montgomery Blair) and junior Tara Connor (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) also finished in the top 10 with an eighth and 10th place finish respectively.
“Individually we had strong performances. I am pleased with the training” said Coach McGranahan. “We raced well and are getting ready for November”.
Brittany Christian (Cary, N.C./Green Hope) rounded out the field of Highlanders in the women's 5k with a 29th place finish and a time of 20:15.
