WINTHROP BLANKS WOMEN’S TENNIS IN BIG SOUTH OPENER

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Radford fell to No. 66 ranked Winthrop, 7-0, in its women's tennis Big South opener Friday evening at the Memorial Courts.

The loss drops the Highlanders to 0-6 on the season and 0-1 in the Big South, while the Eagles improve to 10-7 on the year and 2-0 in the conference.

After sweeping the doubles portion, Winthrop won all six singles contests in straight sets.

The Highlanders will be back in action Friday March 11, traveling to Orlando, Fla. to take on Florida Atlantic at 10 a.m.
