HUDSON WINS HIGH JUMP, RADFORD HAS THREE TOP-4 SHOWINGS AT VT CHALLENGE

FINAL RESULTS

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Highlighted by Travis Hudson's high jump victory, Radford track and field recorded three Top-4 finishes on the final day of the Virginia Tech Challenge Saturday afternoon.

Hudson tallied his first career individual victory when he leapt to the event's top mark of 2.05m / 6-08.75. It stood as the ninth individual title for a Highlander this indoor season.

Throws
Justin Smith wrapped up men's shot put in fourth place with a toss of 15.65m / 51-04.25. Garrett Knudson's PR of 15.50m / 49-04.50 in the shot put awarded him seventh place overall.

Jumps
Nikki Roseberry recorded a runner-up performance in the high jump, as she leaped 1.65m / 5-05.00

Sprints
After competing in the 200m a day ago, Tehquin Warrick placed ninth in the men's 400m with a 49.58. In his first 600m competition, Eric Graves tallied a seventh-place showing with a time of 1:22.43.

Distance
In the men's 3000m, Brian Gorwitz set a new personal-best when he crossed the finish line in 8:48.40. He would finish ninth in the event. In the mile, Caroline Ratterree ran a personal-best 5:19.15 to place seventh while Hannah Scheren also posted a PR of 5:24.43.

The Highlanders return to Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va. next weekend, Feb. 24-25, for the Big South Indoor Championships. Last year, Radford had two freshmen of the year, nine all-conference showings and one Big South Champion. Six of eight individual all-conference athletes return this year.
