SWIMMING & DIVING COMPETES AT VIRGINIA TECH SWIM/DIVE CHALLENGE



RESULTS

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. –
Radford swimming & diving competed against some very strong competition at the Virginia Tech Annual Margaret Soulen Gilbert Breast Cancer Awareness Swim/Dive Meet on Friday evening at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. The Highlanders competed against the Hokies, North Carolina, James Madison and Liberty.
 
Individually, senior Skye Hickling recorded a sixth on the 3-meter board with a score of 228.30.  Several Highlanders posted personal bests on the evening. Freshman Laura Bradley lowered her time in both the 50 and 100 free with times of 26.12 and 56.20, respectively.
 
Senior Meaghan Rowley, senior Haley Schweitzer and junior Claire Doherty recorded personal bests in the 50 back (33.02), 100 IM (1:06.21) and 50 butterfly (28.08), respectively. In the 100 IM, freshman Lindsey Anderson touched the wall at 1:05.404 and sophomore Mary Flinn was right behind her at 105:84.
 
Freshman Madeline Schouten, sophomore Jordan Jessee and senior Sydney Sweet in the 50 breaststroke, Schoutan in the 200 breaststroke, Anderson in the 200 butterfly and 400 IM, freshmen Marinda Kitchen and Carly Csapo in the 50 fly also cracked the personal-best barrier in their respective events.
 
The Highlanders return home next Saturday, Oct. 19 hosting Campbell in their Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) opener at 2:00 p.m. in the Dedmon Center Natatorium.
