2013 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE: KAREN BOWLES JORDAN '90

On Oct. 18, 2013, Radford University inducted five Highlander Student-Athletes into the Athletics Hall of Fame during a dinner and ceremony held in the College of Business and Economic's multipurpose room. Let's meet women's basketball standout Karen Bowles.

During her four years (1986-90) playing for the women's basketball team, Karen Bowles ('90) helped lead Radford to three Big South Championships and the league's first postseason (WNIT) appearance in 1989. Bowles is one of two women's basketball Student-Athletes and three Highlanders to accumulate 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Bowles was a three-time first-team all-conference selection, as well as the Big South Tournament MVP in 1990. She was instrumental in guiding Radford to 84 wins over a four-year span, in which they posted three straight 20-win seasons. This included a school record 25 wins in the 1988-89 season.

Currently ranked second in career rebounds (1,012), Bowles was fifth on the all-time scoring list (1,072) at the time of her graduation.

Karen Jordan and her family currently reside in Manassa, Va.
