
WOMEN'S GOLF CLOSES STRONG AT FOREST OAKS FALL CLASSIC

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Alexandra Austin shot a 3-over 75 to tie for 16th and lead the Radford women's golf team in Tuesday's final round at the Forest Oaks Fall Classic hosted by UNC Greensboro. The two-day tournament was played at the par 72, 6,267-yard Forest Oaks Country Club.

Austin added five more birdies in her final 18 holes, giving the senior 12 for the tournament. Her 54-hole 226 (73-78-75) was just four shots outside the top-10.

Radford, as a team, finished 16th in the tournament after firing a 939 (319-316-304) over two days. The Highlanders recorded 29 birdies, which ranked second in the field.

Austin was followed closely by freshman Khushboo Thiagaraj, who carded a 228 (79-74-75) to finish tied for 23rd.

Freshman Larissa Carter's 236 (77-83-76) tied for 49th, while classmate Meagan Board's 249 (90-81-78) tied for 85th. Sophomore Olivia Jay (90-85-83) rounded out the scoring for the Highlanders by tying for 91st.

Elon was able to hold on to its 36-hole lead by carding a 300 in the final round to give the Phoenix an overall score of 899 (298-301-300). Six shots behind and claiming runner-up honors was Rollins.

In the individual chase, Katy Harris of Mercer signed for a 1-under 215 (70-72-73) to top the 96-golfer field.

The Highlanders return to action Oct. 13th when they head to Greenville, N.C. to compete in the two-day Lady Pirate Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina.
