WOMEN’S GOLF CLIMBS TEAM STANDINGS AFTER ROUND TWO AT KIAWAH

ROUND 2
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Following a much-improved second round where the Radford women's golf team trimmed 14 shots off its first-round tally, the Highlanders (646) ascended to 30th place through 36 holes at the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Spring Classic. RU played Monday's second round at the par 72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point Golf Club.
Continuing to lead the way for the Highlanders is senior Alexandra Austin, who posted a 77 and is tied for 37th at 153 with 18 holes to play. She logged 13 pars in her second round, one more than yesterday.
Freshmen Larissa Carter and Khushboo Thiagaraj are tied for 92nd at 160. Carter fired her second consecutive 80, while Thiagaraj matched Austin for Radford's best round of the day with a 77. Olivia Jay (173, t-185th) and Meagan Board (189, 203rd) round out the Highlanders' lineup.
Behind the round of the day (288), tournament host College of Charleston (588) moved into first place on the team leaderboard. The Cougars are led by individual frontrunner Laura Fuenfstueck, who is at 1-under-par 141 (70-71). She has a one-shot advantage over Samford's Bailey Gray.
Troy (598) remained in second place in the team standings, followed by first-round leader North Florida (601), Stetson (602) and Elon (603).
Radford returns to the par 72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point Golf Club for Tuesday's final round, which begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The Highlanders are set to play with USC Upstate and Ball State.
