RADFORD STANDS THREE STROKES OUT OF SECOND IN WINTHROP INVITE

ROCK HILL, S.C. – After day one of the Winthrop Intercollegiate, Radford stands three strokes out of second place, charting a 319 on the first 18 holes to rank fifth on the team leaderboard.

Winthrop leads its own tournament with a first round total of 304. In a log jam in the standings behind the Eagles; Appalachian State (316), Presbyterian (317), Austin Peay (318) and Radford (319) will be vying for a strong finish on Saturday.

Meagan Board paced the Highlanders with a six-over par 78, standing in a tie for ninth place. Following Board, Olivia Jay carded a 79 and Kasidy Beckel charted an 80 to round out the Highlanders top three scorers.

Board is five strokes off Winthrop's Chelsea Dantonio (73) for medalist honors.

Radford concludes the 36-hole invitational on Saturday, teeing off at 9:30 a.m., with Austin Peay and Bethune-Cookman.
