RADFORD, Va. – Radford used a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to overcome an eight-point deficit, holding on for a 67-57 win over Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon as Destinee Walker finished with a team-high 15 points for her fourth consecutive double-digit performance.

Trailing 53-45 early in the fourth quarter, Walker sparked the Highlander run with a pair of free throws and a layup off a Jayda Worthy steal, pulling Radford within four points.

Following two free throws by Khiana Johnson, Walker found Worthy off a steal as the junior drove coast-to-coast, drawing a foul on the made layup. Worthy finished off the ole fashion three-point play, giving the Highlanders a 54-53 lead with 8:02 remaining in regulation as Radford quickly scored nine points in one minute and 28 seconds.

Walker would score the Highlanders next five points on a 3-pointer from the left wing at the 7:09 mark and a transition layup off a rebound to build the lead to six (59-53) with 5:57 on the clock.

Radford's 16-point run was capped off on a layup by Johnson as the freshman drove through the lane to build the Highlander edge to eight points.

Davis & Elkins would only score four more points in the quarter as Worthy sealed the comeback with her third steal, finishing off the turnover with a layup to give Radford a 22-6 fourth quarter showing in the 67-57 comeback victory.

The Senators led for 27:12 after taking the lead one-minute into the opening quarter. Stephanie Wooten handed the Senators a 21-14 lead after the first 10 minutes, pouring in 14 of her game-high 29 points on 5 of 8 shooting in the first quarter.

Radford scored first to start the game and did not regain the lead until Lydia Rivers grabbed an offensive rebound, scoring on a putback to give the Highlanders a 34-33 halftime lead.

With the win, Radford is off to a 3-1 start for the first time since 2012-13.
Despite trailing for most of the contest, Radford finished 27 of 60 from the field, shooting 45 percent in the game.
Davis & Elkins finished with 19 made field goals, 10 coming from behind the 3-point line.
Of the 19 makes, 12 were assisted on.
Destinee Walker has now scored 55 points through four games, bringing her average up to 13.8 per game. Walker has 31 points in the last two games.
The sophomore finished with nine points in the fourth quarter comeback on 3 of 4 shooting.
Walker went 6 for 12 from the floor, setting a new career mark in made field goals.
Walker led the Highlanders in points, rebounds and assists; becoming the first Highlander since Jordynn Gaymon led Radford in all three categories on the same date in 2014 against Pittsburgh.
In addition to her 15-point performance, Walker finish with 13 rebounds for her first career double-double.
Joining Walker in double-figures, Lydia Rivers finished with 12 points on a perfect 6 for 6 performance from the floor.
Radford won the rebound battle 44-29, including 14 offensive rebounds, scoring 17 points off of second chances.
Davis & Elkins was led by a game-high 29 points from Stephanie Wooten. Wooten finished the day 10 for 23 from the field, including a 6 of 14 effort from 3-point land.

"There was an eight-minute stretch where we had some life and intensity, which helped give us the lead. You have to give Davis & Elkins a lot of credit, because in a lot of ways they deserved to win this game. They outplayed us most of the game, but that eight-minute stretch was a good lesson for us.
