
HIGHLANDERS EARN FIRST WIN IN 5-2 DECISION OVER PRESBYTERIAN

CLINTON, S.C. – After dropping its first eight matches to start the season, Radford collected a 5-2 decision over Presbyterian, Saturday afternoon in Big South action.
The Highlanders started the day off right, earning victories in all three doubles matches, including an exciting finish as Taylor Fay and Claire Nguyen collected a 7-6, (7-4) win in No. 3 doubles.
Radford controlled a 2-0 lead as Natalie Sayer picked up a win in No. 1 singles action (6-0, 6-0), her fourth victory of the season.
After a Blue Hose win, the Highlanders took the match with wins from Meili Martin and Tarrannum Handa. Handa sealed the win with a 7-5, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles action.
The Highlanders (1-8, 1-3) will look to build off momentum gained in the victory as RU hosts Liberty for its first home match of the 2016 season on Tuesday. The Big South matchup is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
