RADFORD COLLECTS FIRST WIN IN 4-3 DECISION VERSUS BLUEFIELD

RADFORD, Va. – Radford earned its first victory on the season with a thrilling a 4-3 decision over Bluefield in a Commonwealth clash, Wednesday afternoon at the RU Tennis Complex.

The Rams raced out to a 1-0 lead, taking two doubles matches to start the day

Bluefield collected its second straight point as Patrik Martin earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision over Josh Greenblatt.

After trailing 2-0 early in the match, Radford went on a tear, winning four straight matches. Alexandros Caldwell got the Highlanders on the board with a No.1 singles victory as Markel Aranberri withdrew from the match.

Michiel Meekers and Jose Moreno Manzano picked up two easy victories, giving Radford a 3-2 advantage.

Janken Thoen secured the Highlanders first win of the season with a 6-4, 6-2 victory in No. 2 singles.

Radford (1-10) returns to action tomorrow in a Big South contest at Liberty.
