WOMEN’S GOLF SHOOTS SEASON-BEST AGAINST CAMPBELL AND DEFEATS THE CITADEL

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's golf team shot a season-best 314 as a team against Campbell on Friday and defeated The Citadel, 3-2, in a match play on Saturday.
No. 41 Campbell shot a 290 but the Highlanders were not intimidated and played their game shooting season-low 314. The competition was played at the Patriot Golf Club, which is where the Big South Tournament in the spring is played.
Khushboo Thiagaraj shot a 75, while Sidney Walker was one stroke over with a 76. Meagan Board shot an 80 and Morgan Cox finished with an 83.
After Friday's competition, the Highlanders traveled to Charleston, S.C., for a match play with The Citadel. The match was a best-of-five format as the first team to three won.
Sarah Cushing was the first player to win her match and put the Highlanders up 1-0. Morgan Cox went for par on the 17th hole and won her match, giving the Highlanders another point. The clincher came from Walker as she was the deciding factor, which gave the Highlanders a 3-2 victory.

The Highlanders will take a short break before returning to the links competing in the Winthrop Intercollegiate – the final competition of the fall – at the Rock Hill Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.
