RADFORD RECEIVES STRONG PLAY IN DAY ONE OF WOFFORD INVITE

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After day one of the Wofford Invitational, Radford has two players in third-place matches and two in fifth-place contests, while putting a doubles tandem in the winners' bracket.
In the nine singles and two doubles bracket invitational, Radford had six players participate, including two doubles teams.
Lotti Meszaros continued her strong fall showcase, defeating Western Carolina's Jordyn King 1-6, 6-0, 13-11. Meszaros will play in the Gold Singles third-place match on Saturday after falling to Alory Pereira of ETSU 4-6, 6-3, 10-3. The Gold Singles third-place match will see Meszaros take on Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico of Emory.
Natalie Sayer joins Meszaros in third-place matches after defeating Stephanie Taylor of Emory 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round. Sayer dropped a tough 7-6 (6), 6-1 match to Big South foe Miljana Ristic of Gardner-Webb in the semifinals of the White Singles bracket. Sayer will face Western Carolina's Alexa Webb on Saturday in a third-place contest.
Drousile Dzeubou defeated Vale Zarama of USC Upstate 6-2, 6-2; advancing to the Wofford Singles fifth-place match against UNC Asheville's Kylee Shipley. Dzeubou dropped a 7-6 (6), 6-4 battle to Melissa Esguerra of ETSU.
Zoe Fraser fell to Amalie Davidson of UNC Asheville 6-2, 6-2 in the opening match of the Gray Singles bracket, but avenged the loss, advancing to the fifth-place with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Bluefield's Germa Mendoza. Fraser will see Elaine Vernoff of Emory in the fifth-place match.
Tyler Blalock dropped both singles contests in the SoCon Singles bracket. Blalock fell to Defne Olcay of Emory 6-2, 6-4 and Valetine Limauge of Gardner-Webb 7-5, 6-0.
Jeanine Acierto fell to Anastasia Horvat of UNC Asheville 6-1, 6-4 and Bluefield's Paloma Sanchez in two matches of the Terrier Singles bracket.
In doubles action, Dzeubou and Blalock defeated the UNC Asheville tandem of Kylee Shipley and Hannah Francisco 6-4. The Highlander duo will face Western Carolina's Lauren McCall and Carli Deehr Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Black Doubles bracket winners' bracket.
After falling to Yi Chi Ma and Melissa Esguerra of ETSU 7-6 (5), the team of Meszaros and Sayer will face Virginia Tech's Nina Sorkin and Nancy Ghanem on Saturday at 9 a.m.
Radford continues action in the Wofford Invitational on Saturday with doubles action slated for 9 a.m., and singles action at 12:30 p.m.
