MAGALHAES COLLECTS WIN IN 6-1 LOSS TO CAMPBELL

RADFORD, Va. – Rodrigo Magalhaes picked up the lone Radford win on the day as the Highlanders dropped a 6-1 Big South contest to Campbell on Thursday morning.
Campbell (11-5, 4-1 BSC) opened the match quickly, taking No. 1 and 2 doubles. The Highlander duo of Michiel Meekers and Robin Calais battled back-and-forth against Lukas Schaefer and Louis Monterosso, eventually falling 7-5.
Magalhaes opened singles play with a dominating 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ondrej Labik in the No. 1 spot. With the win, the sophomore improves 3-1 in Big South play, while moving to 9-6 on the season. He is now 5-3 in No. 1 singles.
Campbell won the next four singles matches to build a 5-1 lead.
Alexandros Caldwell battled in No. 2 singles as the Highlanders looked to take another singles match. Caldwell dropped a hard-fought 7-6 (10-8), 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) decision to Lorenz Schwab.
Radford continues Big South play on Friday, traveling to Boiling Springs, N.C., for a 1 p.m., match against Gardner-Webb.
