RADFORD WOMEN’S GOLF IMPROVES BY ONE ON SECOND DAY AT PALMETTO INTERCOLLEGIATE

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Radford women's golf team finished the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday at Turtle Point Golf Course. The Highlanders are currently in 21st place after shooting a second-round total of 309, which marked a one-shot improvement from the first round.
Jayde Dudley continues to lead the Highlanders in the tournament and moved up 23 spots into a tie for 20th after shooting a 1-under 71 on Monday. Dudley opened the day with a birdie on the 10th hole and had consecutive birdies on the fifth and sixth to highlight her day, which placed her at 2-over for the tournament.
Sidney Walker had birdies on holes five and 15 for Radford on her way to a score of 77 for the day (5-over), which marked a three-shot improvement from her opening round. Walker's day included a score of 1-over 37 on her first nine holes of the day, as Radford started on the back nine.
Riko Nagai had a two-shot improvement from her opening round and shot a 2-over 38 on her final nine holes, which tied for her best nine-hole score of the season. Nagai also shot 2-over on the back nine in the second round of the Starmount Fall Classic on September 30.
Overall, Coastal Carolina and Fresno State are tied for the team lead at 1-under par. The Chanticleers vaulted six spots forward after shooting a team score of 8-under (280), the best single-day score of any team in the field in either round. Troy's Nicole Lorup is the current individual leader at 7-under after shooting a 65 on Monday. Lorup has a one-shot lead over Brigitte Thibault of Fresno State and Jenjira Jinangkul of Coastal Carolina.
