SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Radford women's tennis team got back in the win column with a 6-1 victory over Savannah State on Friday afternoon at the Tiger Tennis Courts in Savannah, Ga.

Anastasia Belyaeva and Jeanine Acierto clinched the doubles point for the Highlanders with a 6-4 victory on court 3. Just before that Malin Falk and Katey Fruehauf defeated Christy Turner and Sofia Shut'ko on court 2. The pair of wins gave Radford a 1-0 lead.

Fruehauf was the first one to finish in the singles competition with a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court 5. Drousile Dzeubou picked up a win on court 2 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Muskaan Ranjan.

Not long after that Falk clinched the match for Radford with a 6-1, 6-1 victory on court 3. Belyaeva also picked up a victory on court 1 and gave Radford a 5-0 lead.

Freshman Marielle Leahy was the only player that had a three-set match. She fell in the first set 2-6 but bounced back to pick up a win, 6-3 in the second set. With the match already clinched by Radford they played a 10-point tiebreaker and Leahy won 10-3. The freshman's victory gave Radford a 6-0 lead.

Tyler Blalock lost 7-5, 6-4 on court 4 and made the final score 6-1.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders will travel to California for a pair of matches against Cal State Northridge on Wednesday and Chapman on Thursday.
