WOMEN’S TENNIS DEFEATS NC CENTRAL TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team battled the weather and NC Central and came out on top 5-1 in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

With numerous weather delays, the two teams decided to just play singles competitions. Drousile Dzeubou and Anastasia Belyaeva had no issues on court 2 and court 1. Their opposition only scored six points through a combined four sets. That gave Radford a 2-0 lead.

The final four matches were decided in order as Malin Falk gave Radford a 3-0 lead with a win over Hannah Gaines on court 3 (6-0, 6-3). Then shortly after Tyler Blalock clinched the match for Radford with a 9-7 second set tiebreak score. She won the first set 6-4 and then had to compete hard to win the point.

Jeanine Acierto gave Radford its fifth point with a two-set victory and Ivana Dragaovic gave the Eagles its only point with a win on court 6.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders will stay at home and compete in the Big South Conference Tournament with a chance to play in an NCAA Regional.
