RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over USC Upstate at the Radford Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

The Spartans took the doubles point and a 1-0 lead, but it didn't keep the Highlanders down for too long. Once the singles matches began Andres Silva tied it up at one with a 6-0, 6-0 victory on court 6.

Soon after Matko Varga and Michiel Meekers picked a pair of two set victories and gave the Highlanders a 3-1 lead. The final three matches went into three sets and Radford needed just one to clinch the match.

That point came from Alexandros Caldwell as he picked up two straight set wins on court 3. His 14^th win this season gave Radford its 14^th of the season. Rodrigo Magalhaes and Yevhen Sirous also picked up wins on courts 1 and 2, respectively.

The win moves Radford to 14-4 this season with a 5-1 Big South record. The five wins are only two wins away from tying the most conference wins since 2012.

The Highlanders will travel to Buies Creek, N.C., on Friday and take on league-leader Campbell at 1 p.m.
