RADFORD FINISHES OPENING DAY OF BENBOW INVITATIONAL IN THIRD

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Led by a pair of top-10 rounds, the Radford women's golf team completed the opening round of the Benbow Invitational on Monday in third place. The Highlanders shot a team score of 314.

Natalie Welsh leads the Highlanders and is tied for second overall at 4-over, one shot off the lead. Welsh and Sidney Walker, who is tied for eighth at 6-over, each had a team-high three birdies.

Jayde Dudley is just outside the top 10 in a tie for 12th at 7-over. Dudley and Welsh had the lowest nine-hole score of anyone on the team with identical front-nine scores of 1-over 36.

Beatriz Mosquera Quintas currently sits at 13-over, while Riko Nagai is at 14-over. Nagai had a birdie on both the front nine and the back nine.

Quinnipiac leads the tournament field at 24-over, one shot ahead of second-place St. John's and six shots ahead of the third-place Highlanders. Valparaiso's Kayla Krueger leads the field at 3-over, one shot ahead of Welsh and St. John's' Jessie Kweon.
