
Volleyball Drops Home Opener To High Point

RADFORD, Va. – After 14 matches on the road to begin the 2021 season, the Radford Volleyball team finally got to hold its home opener in the Dedmon Center, but High Point played spoiler and handed the Highlanders a 3-0 loss.

Radford came out looking inspired in the first set, pushing the Panthers to the brink. High Point earned a 5-3 lead to kick things off before the Highlanders struck back with a 13-2 run to sprint out in front. The visitors battled their way all the way back, however, clinching the set 25-23.

The second set wasn't quite as competitive, with the Big South leaders earning a 25-14 win. The third set was similar, ending 25-15.

Freshman outside hitter Taylor Jefferson made her collegiate debut in the match, earning two digs and attempting two attacks.

- 10 different Highlanders registered at least one kill in the match
- Kennedi Johnson and Laila Wallace led the way with six kills each. Wallace also added a team-high four blocks
- Login Williams tallied 11 assists and Taylor Moore got down for 10 digs
