Highlander Women Second, Men Fifth at VertCross Invite

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. - The Radford University cross country team raced in their final regular season meet of the season Friday at the VertCross Invitational hosted by High Point University. In a preview of the Big South Championships course in two weeks, the women's team took second place at the meet and the men finished fifth.

The Highlander women were led by another strong performance by Hannah Moran, finishing fourth in a time of 17:47.8. Moran was followed closely by MacKenzie Gardner in eighth in 18:17.8. Rachel Werking and Chloe Wellings finished close together in 15th and 16th with times of 18:38.5 and 18:39.5, respectively. Rachel Millirons finished off the scoring for the Radford women in 31st.

The Highlander women finished with 62 points on the day behind only Appalachian State with 58.

The Radford men were led by Joshua Daggett in 15th with a time of 26:03.3. Nate Jennings also finished in the top 30 in the meet with his 27th-place finishing time of 26:43.0. Joe Limo, Luke Richards and Clay Kelly rounded out the scoring in 52nd, 54th, and 65th.
