Highlanders Best UNC Asheville for Second Straight Win

Radford, Va. – Behind a balanced attack with three players recording at least eight kills, the Radford Volleyball team defeated Big South foe UNC Asheville 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Dedmon Center.
The win marked the second straight victory for Radford, having bested USC Upstate Friday evening.
The first set was tightly contested, with neither team gaining an edge early. With the score at 17-14 in favor of the home team, the Highlanders reeled off a 7-1 run to take control, punctuated by two kills from Emily Dykes.
In the second game, Radford was in control the entire way, winning 25-20 as junior Morgan Lawson paced the team with five kills.
The Highlanders overcame an early three-point deficit in set three, ending the game on a 5-1 run to take it 25-20.

Radford will hit the road once again as they travel to Hampton for a 6 p.m. matinee on Friday.

- Radford recorded 36 assists to UNC Asheville's 22.
