Highlanders Cruise to Sweep in Season-Opener

RADFORD, VA. – Radford opened its season Wednesday afternoon with a quick 7-0 sweep over Bluefield State College.

The Highlanders opened the day quickly winning the doubles point with Malin Falk and Emily Brandow finishing first. Melissa Ifidzhen and Salma Loudili made their debut on court one and clinched the doubles point 6-1. Katey Fruehauf and Tyler Blalock finished the day with a 6-4 win on court three.

Camryn McClure was the first Highlander to wrap up competition in singles play with a swift 6-0, 6-0 victory on court six. Blalock also dismantled her competition 6-1, 6-0 and Loudili clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory on court three. Brandow, Ifidzhen, and Falk all wrapped up the day with easy victories on their respective courts.

Next Up
Radford has moved their next to match to the indoor courts at Blacksburg, Va. in anticipation of weather, where they will face-off against Towson.
